Our Offer
The Orthopedic Clinic at Vrinnevisjukhuset in Norrköping is part of CKOC, the Center for Surgery, Orthopedics, and Cancer Care within Region Östergötland. The orthopedic clinic consists of a care department with 28 beds, an outpatient clinic, and a rehabilitation unit. The care department has both acute and elective flows, and we care for patients aged 18 and older. We prioritize the patient, patient safety, and the work environment. Improvement work is part of our daily routine. We have a well-staffed operation with a structured and well-liked scheduling model that promotes recovery during rotation shifts. Our focus is on creating a good work environment for every employee, and we are happy to share our innovative solutions in an interview.
You have great opportunities to influence how you want to work. Either day/evening or constant night shifts or a mix. We work four weekend shifts distributed freely over five weeks. If you choose to work nights, we have a unique model where you work 89% as a full-time employee, 14 nights over five weeks, and 20 hours for professional development over five weeks. Weekend work is available as an option. The introduction is tailored to experience and includes job shadowing with care neighbors, e.g., surgery, emergency, and outpatient care over time.
Job Description
As a nurse, your tasks will involve pre- and post-operative care in the clinic's care department. Optimization, mobilization, and general nursing care are focus areas. Patient admissions occur around the clock in collaboration with the orthopedic on-call team.
Team
You will work in a team, and it is important that you see your role in ensuring the team functions and develops. During the day, there are 1-2 nurses and 1-2 nursing assistants per care team for seven patients. We have increased staffing at night, with 2-3 nurses and three or four nursing assistants depending on occupancy. Care coordinators and social coordinators manage our flows.
About You
You are a qualified nurse. Experience in orthopedics is an advantage, but not a requirement. Since you will be communicating with patients, relatives, and colleagues, it is important that you have good Swedish language skills in both spoken and written form.
You have good collaboration skills, are calm, stable, and patient-focused. You see opportunities in change and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. You are service-oriented and contribute to a good work climate.
